Over sixty works by the prominent Bay Area artist Sargent Johnson (1888-1967) are on view in an exhibition organized by guest curator Lizzetta LeFalle-Collins, an art historian specializing in African-American art. It offers a thorough analysis of Johnson’s stylistic development and includes sculpture, works on paper, and paintings of polychrome porcelain enamel on steel.
This exhibition is made possible by Bank of America and by a grant from the National Endowment for the Arts.
