Fabrications

Bodybuildings
February 6–April 28, 1998

Fabrications: Bodybuildings is a groundbreaking exhibition that focuses on the complex relationship between the organic human body and the fabricated building through four architectural installations, each designed collaboratively by four architects or architectural teams. The architects are Craig Hodgetts and Hsin-Ming Fung of Hodgetts+Fung Design Associates, Sheila Kennedy and J. Frano Violich of Kennedy & Violich Architecture, Byron Kuth and Elizabeth Ranieri of Kuth/ Ranieri, and Rob Wellington Quigley, FAIA. The SFMOMA presentation of Fabrications is part of a collaborative architectural exhibition presented concurrently at three sites: SFMOMA; the Museum of Modern Art, New York (MoMA); and the Wexner Center for the Arts in Columbus, Ohio.

The San Francisco Museum of Modern Art presentation of Fabrications is made possible in part by Grants for the Arts/San Francisco Hotel Tax Fund and the SFMOMA Museum Fund.
