A Hidden Picasso

This exhibition examines Picasso’s Scéne de Rue, on view in Matisse and Beyond: The Painting and Sculpture Collection. During conservation work on the painting, X-rays revealed an image beneath its surface: an unfinished painting of a Parisian nightclub bearing a striking resemblance to another Picasso painting, Le Moulin de la Galette.
