Discover hidden gems and hear from multiple perspectives in this series of gallery talks. Each month, an SFMOMA staff member highlights work that pushes boundaries, defies expectations, and inspires deep thinking. You might find a new favorite!

This month, writer and SFMOMA Desktop Technician Martin Oropeza highlights some of the eclectic images on view in the exhibition snap+share, which tracks the impact of technology on the act of photo sharing.

Martin Oropeza is a San Francisco native, born and raised in the city’s Mission District. He graduated from San Francisco State University’s celebrated Creative Writing program in 2010 where teachers lauded him as “pretty good.” His writing has been featured in Cipactli and Transfer magazine, as well as on his grandmother’s refrigerator — stuck under a magnet. [This is where a more celebrated writer would put their accomplishments and awards they’ve won.] Marty lives in the East Bay with his wife and two cats. He is extremely online.
