Groups of 10 or more adults may purchase discount tickets in advance at the Museum or by calling the Group Visits Coordinator at 415.357.4197.
Private Guided Tours
Tours led by private guides are a fun and exciting way to see the Museum and learn about our collections and current exhibitions. We are happy to customize tours to meet your interests. Private tours are $100 for groups of 10 to 25 people. Additional guides for larger groups are available for $75 each. If a translator is needed for a foreign language tour, there will be an additional charge. Please call 415.357.4197 at least six weeks before your preferred tour date. Docent-Led Tailored Tours
Docent-led tailored tours are pro bono tours available to qualified non-profit social service organizations and college groups. These tours of the Museum's permanent collection and traveling exhibitions are offered free of charge. To schedule a tour in advance through the Education Department, call 415.357.4095.
Off-Site Tours
Explore outside the Museum with the Modern Art Adventures program. Customized guided tours to artists' studios, galleries, private collections, and other museums give you the opportunity to go behind the scenes of the Bay Area's exciting contemporary art scene. Audio Guides
Audio Guides allow group members to explore independently and can be purchased in advance with your ticket order. Headsets for the permanent collection audio tours are $3 each. For more information, please see Audio Tours.
Visiting Lecturer Program
SFMOMAs Visiting Lecturer Program enables college professors to tour their classes through the Museums galleries. Professors must apply for a Visiting Lecturer badge two to three weeks prior to the date of their intended visit. Professors who do not have a Visiting Lecturer badge will not be allowed to speak publicly to a group while touring SFMOMAs galleries.
