| Zeva Smith was a devoted volunteer and friend of the Museum for over 25 years. She lived a rich life that included a career in teaching disabled children, a two-year stint with the Peace Corps in Costa Rica when she was in her 60s, and, upon returning to San Francisco, a commitment as an SFMOMA Library volunteer. After her death at the age of 90, her trust left an important gift to the Museum Library. These funds were used to purchase significant catalogues raisonnes, a lasting resource for the scholars and art lovers who use the Library. One of the Museum's greatest friends was Walter Haas, Jr. Renowned as a philanthropist and business leader, Mr. Haas enriched the community through his generosity. He and his wife Evelyn continued his family's long tradition of dedication to the Museum. Mrs. Haas is a former chair and current lifetime member of the Board of Trustees, and is a tireless volunteer for a multitude of Museum activities. Through his will, Mr. Haas provided a special endowment fund to the Museum in honor of Evelyn's extraordinary commitment to SFMOMA. His gift will support the general program needs of the Museum. In Honor of Your Gift The Grace McCann Morley Legacy Society has been established to honor donors who have provided for SFMOMA in their estate plans. It is named in honor of Grace Morley, founding director from 1935 to 1958, who transformed the Museum into a leading center of the visual arts. The Museum is pleased to offer members special benefits. For additional information contact deputy director of development Blair Winn at 415.618.3280 or . |
