The following interrelated projects will be completed over the course of the grant period:
For Adult Museum Visitors (online and in the Museum):
- Publish new chapters of Making Sense of Modern Art (MSoMA)
- Create Artists Working, Artists Talking, a digital
anthology of artist video footage derived from our multimedia programs published
to date (now available in the Learning Lounge of the Koret Visitor Education
Center) and MSoMA Shorts:
- Publish new Collections Access Online with multimedia resources integrated from our interactive educational technologies programs
- Develop hybrid programs that draw on multimedia education resources and link them to visitor encounters with art in the gallery, e.g., new docent Spotlight Tours
- Optimize pathways into Making Sense of Modern Art and develop user-friendly finding aids for our library of multimedia programs published to date both online and in the Koret Visitor Education Center
- Restructure educational multimedia content on the SFMOMA Web site
to more effectively guide
visitors to resources most relevant to their interests
in individual artists and artworks
- Surface existing educational multimedia content in SFMOMA search
engine results
For Teachers and High School Students:
- Author new Making Sense of Modern Art Curriculum matched to Grade 9–12 standards in:
- Language Arts
- Social Studies
- Visual Arts
- Launch statewide Making Sense of Modern Art Curriculum Teacher Training
- Incorporate the new curriculum in a redesigned School & Teacher web site
