Special Exhibition-Related Events Each year SFMOMA's Education Department creates a wide range of public programs in conjunction with special exhibitions, including talks by artists and curators, panel discussions, performances, screenings, and classes. These programs are a great way to learn more about the art on view at the Museum. They are generally held on Thursday evenings and on Saturdays. Consult the online calendar for current listings. Free Tuesday Program On the Museum's Free Tuesday (the first Tuesday of each month), the Education Department presents a free talk or film screening related to some aspect of modern and contemporary art. Programs begin in the Phyllis Wattis Theater at noon. Consult the online calendar for current listings. Art and Conversation Visitors are invited to explore a different perspective on modern and contemporary art by attending the monthly Art and Conversation program, a free lecture and gallery tour. The program takes place at noon on the last Friday of the month and begins in the Koret Center. Consult the online calendar for current listings. Video Screenings SFMOMA's Koret Visitor Education Center offers an ongoing program of screenings related to exhibitions on view. These screenings are free with Museum admission. Consult the online calendar for current listings. Information and Tickets For information about current public programs, please refer to SFMOMA's online calendar. Docent Art Extension Outreach Program Docents will travel off-site to visit groups such as rotary clubs, senior residences, and other community organizations in order to bring the museum experience to those who may not otherwise have the ability to visit SFMOMA.
