How are public murals different from than smaller artworks that the public does not see? Muralists often combine their personal and political ideas in images that communicate a story or idea. In this group activity, you will work in small groups to create a public mural that conveys your views on a political issue.

In this activity you will:

  1. Study murals by Diego Rivera and David Alfaro Siqueiros
  2. Design and execute a class mural
  3. Critique the mural as a group
  4. Reflect on your process
